URGENT! For Sec 1 and new Sec 2s only....

Dear Sec 1 and new Sec 2 cadets,

Please take note. I have just received news from NPCC HQ regarding a course that will be held on 13th June (Wed) from 2.30pm to 4.30pm.

There will be a Road Safety Training at Road Safety Community Park at East Coast Park. At the end of the training, all cadets will sit for a written MCQ test related to road safety and you will attain the Road Safety Proficiency Badge.

Marking of the test is done using your NRIC number, hence cadets must be aware of their NRIC numbers as they are requried to shade their NRIC number in the OAS..

Please note that this badge is a complusory badge for promotion to LCP with effect from this year onwards.

Cadets are to wear Full U and bring along a 2B pencil and eraser for the test.

Police Day Parade 2007

The Police Day Parade 2007 will be held on 3 June 2007 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium. NPCC cadets have been invited to be the spectators for the parade.

Each unit can nominate 5 cadets as cadet spectators for the parade.

Venue: Singapore Indoor Stadium
Time: 1600 hrs to 1830 hrs
Attire: Full Uniform

Transportation:
There will be shuttle bus services cater for NPCC cadets from Kallang
Mrt Station to Singapore Indoor Stadium from 1330 hrs onwards and after the
event, from Singapore Indoor Stadium to Kallang Mrt Station. Upon alighting
at Carpark F at the Indoor Stadium, cadets are to make their way to the
assembly point . All NPCC spectators are to report at the assembly point -
Foyer at the South Entrance at 1400 hrs for attendance taking before
proceeding to the Indoor Stadium.

Cadets who are keen, please inform me by this Thursday, 17th May.

NPCC Day Celebrations - 14th May (MONDAY)

NPCC Day is commemorated nation wide on the 7th of May every year and all cadets are required to report to school in their full uniform. This year, in view of the ongoing Common Tests, our school has postponed the celebration to 14th May (Mon). All cadets are expected to fall in, in Full Uniform.

Only Sec 1 cadets and the 5 new Sec 2 cadets are not expected to report in full uniform as they are still not familiar with the uniform etiquette.

Please fall in at the Concourse by 8.15am in your Full Uniform.

A. NEW COMPETITIONS FOR SIGNGING UP

1. NPCC INTER-UNIT .22 REVOLVER SHOOTING COMPETITION 2007

Open to: Sec 3 - 5 cadets who must have participated in the Sec 3 Classification Shoot

Date: 1st June or 4th June (Date will be confirmed by HQ)
Attire : Full Uniform
Categories: Boys Team - 5 cadets and Girls Team - 5 cadets

2. AREA 4 NPCC LOGO DESIGN COMPETION

Open to: All cadets from schools within Area 4
Objectives: To design a logo that identifies Area 4

Categories: Mixed Team of 5 cadets (we can have more than 1 team)

3. BUILD & ROW COMPETITION

Open to: All cadets
Details: Teams are required to build a raft using recycled materials. The raft must be able to carry a min of 1 passenger, from point A to point B. The team may choose to build or assemble the raft at the competition site. Thus, much planning is to be done during the June Hols.

Venue: SKI360 Degree Cable-Ski Park (East Coast)
Date: 15 July 2007 (Friday)

NPCC Day is on 7th May (Mon) but due to the ongoing common tests, we will postpone the celebrations to 14th May (Mon). On that day, all NPCC cadets will have to fall in, in their full uniform, during morning assembly in front of the whole school. More details will be given out later in a letter to your parents.

Unit Updates...

1. URGENT! - NATIONAL DAY PARADE 2007
Attn: Sec 2 – 3 cadets

The National Day Parade 2007 will be held on 9 August 2007 at the Marina Bay Floating Stage. NPCC is allowed to send in 76 cadets for participation of the parade.

Each school may nominate 1 cadet and 1 reserve to participate in the parade as part of the supporting contingent.

Practices and rehearsals will commence on 12 May 2007. Please refer to unit's notice board for further details.

Attendance for all trainings is compulsory. Cadets who are absent from more than 2 practices will be excluded from the parade.

Participants must be medically fit, not overweight and should preferably be between 1.6m - 1.8m in height.

Transportation will be provided. Other transport details will be issued at a later date.

If you are interested to represent our school in this prestigious event, please sign up on the form on the notice board. First come first served.

Please only sign up when you can commit on all the dates shown in Annex A. Training will be long and tough but you will get the chance to participate in a national event and also earn 100 CIP hours.

We encourage all cadets to join as many competitions as they will also play a crucial role to your promotions and also add to your CCA pts.

Uniform Collection

All Sec 1s, new Sec 2s and Sec 3s

Your new uniforms have been delivered and are in the staff room.

For Sec 3s, please collect them from either myself, Mr Lee or Mr Goh from tomorrow onwards.

Please ensure that in your set of uniform, you have all the items as stated on the paper. DO NOT wash or alter the uniform and polish the boots unless you've checked that the sizes are correct for ALL items. If the size is wrong, please inform us. We will bring you down to the police HQ to change the uniforms after the Common Test.

For Sec 1 and new Sec 2s, a briefing will be conducted on Friday after chapel regarding the alteration of your uniform. Please stay behind in the hall after chapel. We will give out your new uniforms then.

Police Heritage Centre (PHC) Visit - Postponed

All Sec 2 cadets

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Police Heritage Centre has postponed our school visit and rescheduled the guided tour to this coming Friday, 13 April 2007, during our weekly parade.

The details of this visit are as follow:
Reporting Time (Venue): 2.30pm (KCPSS General Office)
Dismissal Time (Venue): 5.30pm (KCPSS)
Attire: School Uniform
Bring along a pen and water bottle

Transport to PHC will be provided. An updated letter will be issued to you during morning assembly. Thank you.

IMPORTANT UNIT EVENT UPDATES!

Attn: All cadets

The following information is important. Please pass the message around to your friends/peers/juniors as soon as possible. Thank you.

1. SEC 1, new Sec 2 and Sec 3 cadets - Uniform Measurement (9 April MON)
The NPCC HQ will be sending down their tailors to take measurements for your NPCC uniform this coming Monday. Please report to Classroom 2 at 3.00pm. The whole session will end by 5.00pm. If you are unable to make it on that day, you will have to make your way down to NPCC HQ at Old Choa Chu Kang road to take your measurements personally.

2. Police Heritage Center Visit (11 April WED)
All Sec 2 cadets are to go for the police heritage center visit this coming Wed. For those of you who did not collect your parents' letter during our annual camp, plese collect it from my pigeon hole.
Reporting time: 3.30pm outside General Office

3. KCP Founders' Day 2007 (20 April FRI)
Need to earn CIP hours? The school will need 12 members from each uniform group for yeoman service. The duties will be as follow:

1) To be ushers for the guests, direct guests from outside General Office to the hall so that they can be seated.
2) To assist in crowd control before the commencement of the award ceremony (so some will be stationed in the hall).
3) To provide line-up for GOH as he makes his way from the back of the hall to the front to be seated.

4. NPCC Annual Parade Cadet Supporters (21 April SAT)

Event Updates!

1. Sec 3 .22 Classification Shoot

All Sec 3 cadets are to be reminded that the classification shoot will be held at the Home Team Academy from 3.00 - 5.00pm on 27th March (Tues).

To prepare for this shoot which will determine if receive your marksmanship proficiency badge, there will be 2 dry practices carried out at Tanglin Police Station. The dates are on 19th March (Mon) and 26th March (Mon).

On both days, you will be excused from class at 2.00pm and please report outside the General Office by 2.30pm in your school uniform. Transport will be provided to and fro. Please remind your classmates about this event.

2. Annual Unit Camp

Our annual unit camp will be held from 30th March to 1st April. Please collect your consent forms from Ms Yip's pigeon hole during your respective recesses on Monday and return the consent forms to Mr Derrick Lee's pigeon hole once you have gotten your parents to sign the forms.

A highlight for the camp will be a unit outing to the ice skating rink in Fuji Ice Palace at Jurong Entertainment Center!

A detailed kit list of what to bring and what not to bring will be issued to you this coming Friday during our weekly parade.

SI Interview & Best Unit Cadet Nominations 2007

In Feb, 5 of our senior cadets went for an Station Inspector (SI) interview conducted by our Area 4 Commandant, Mr Azman. They are:

4. Er Xiang Jun
5. Suraini Suhaini

I am happy to share with you that 2 of them got through the interview and will be promoted to the rank of SI, which is the highest rank attainable for a cadet in his/her secodnary school life. They are:

2. Er Xiang Jun

In addition, I will be nominating 2 cadets for the Best Unit Cadet Award for 2007. Each year, only two cadets (1 boy and 1 girl) will get this best unit cadet proficiency badge. They are:

Yeomen Service - CNY / Total Defence Day 2007

Dear all,

This year round, each UG will be in charge of helping to keep the school clean and tidy after each major National Education Event and we will be leading the startup of this series of yeoman service.

Chinese New Year / Total Defence Day (16 Feb): NPCC
International Friendship Day (week of 9 April): Boys' Brigade
Racial Harmony Day (21 July): Girls' Brigade
National Day (8 August): Girls' Guides and SJAB

Please report to your respective NCOs for attendence taking in the hall, on the stage, after the celebrations end on Friday and we just need to spend some time (should not take more than 30mins) to check through the hall and the auditorium. Each of you will be awarded 1 hour of CIP for the task.
