There are two events occuring which you can sign up via email or through the unit notice board from this Friday onwards.
1. SMRT Challenge
SMRT Challenge is an exciting islandwide amazing race held on Sunday, 23 July 2006, 8am - 6pm, starting at Ngee Ann City Civic Plaza. Cadets are invited to form a team of 4 members to take part in the Student category. Registration is Free but this is competition is only open to cadets who are at least 15 years old.
Cadets representing our school under the Student category stand the chance to win the SMRT Challenge Shield should they emerge champion. This shield was won by NYJC last year. Besides that, the first prize will be $2000 per team, second prize will be $1500 per team and third prize will be $1000 per team.

2. Home Nursing Foundation Flag Day 2006
Do you still remember that some of you helped the Home Nursing Foundation for their Charity Hong Bao Drive earlier this year?
On 29 July (Saturday), they will be having their annual flag day. They require 1000 over student volunteers to help them raise funds for their beneficiaries (http://www.hnf.org.sg )
The collection points are at the following MRT stations: Kallang, Tampines, Woodlands, Somerset, Jurong East and Outram.
The 2 shifts are from 8.30am to 2.30pm and 12.30pm to 6.30pm.

NPCC INTER-UNIT .22 REVOLVER SHOOTING COMPETITION 2006
The NPCC Inter-unit .22 revolver shooting competition (Finals) will
be held on Sat 28 July 2006 at the Home Team Academy Range. The Preliminary
Rounds of the competition have been scheduled at the HTA Range for our school
as follows:
Thursday 1 Jun 2006 (11.00am - 12.00pm)
The selected cadets are to report in full uniform outside the general office foyer by 9.30am on Thursday. Mr Lee will be bringing you all to the HTA and the bus will bring you back to school by 1.00pm.

Sec 1 kayaking orientation course
All Sec 1 cadets are reminded to report at 8.35am at the school foyer this coming Sat, 3rd June for your kayaking course. Please note that the venue has been changed from Changi Sea Sports Club to Pasir Ris Sea Sports Club.
Please refer to the kit list issued for the items to bring and bring along $20 for the course if you had not handed in the $$ to me.

1 star & 2 star Kayaking Course
Attn: Sec 2-5 Cadets
As of now, I have only 3 cadets who signed up for the 2 star kayaking course and 8 cadets who signed up for the 1 star kayaking course. As mentioned very clearly in my annoucement placed on the notice board, I need a MIN number of 10 cadets in order for me to get a instructor for our group. In addition, I need you guys who signed up, to submit your kayaking forms which you should have collected from my pigeon hole, if you had read the instructions carefully. To date, only Novem handed in a complete application form.
Therefore, there is no kayaking courses going to be held this week. I can only block the dates when I get all the kayaking forms back. Please collect the forms from my pigeon hole and submit by the end of this week. I will try to enquire if there are available slots next week for you to join.
As for cadets who have already gotten your 1 star cert and is keen to join the Sec 1s for their kayaking orientation, please let me know by tomorrow, 30th May as I need to book the bus tml.

*Updated*! Thomon CC Day 2006 - 24th June (Sat)
Attn: ALL Sec 1-3 cadets
Thomson Community Centre will be celebrating their annual Thomson CC Day on 24th June. The BISHAN Neighbourhood Police Centre have requested our unit's help to do crowd control duties and also help to man their police booths. Our school's SJAB will also be sending 30 cadets down for first aid duty.
If you are keen to be part of this event but have not signed up on the notice board, email me @ shernpcc@gmail.com!

Time: 9.00am - 7.00pm (Transport & Lunch is provided)

Weekly Friday Parade 19th May 2006
Dear cadets,
The parade this Friday will be CANCELLED.
This is because all the Sec 1s are down for 2.4km run and many Sec 3s are down for a Physics course. All teacher officers are also unavailable that day due to GCE "O" Level Briefing at Ministry of Education.
However, there will be a short but important briefing for the whole unit on Friday. 12.45pm @ the concourse. Attendence is COMPULSORY as this will be the last time we are meeting up before the June Hols start.
Agenda of briefing:
1. Schedule of the June Hols activities will be given out
2. Collection of money for Unit T-shirt & Fun fair tickets
3. Collection of consent forms from Sec 1s for kayaking orientation programme.

Attn: Sec 3 Cadets
The annual Area 4 Leadership Mentoring Skills Course for all Sec 3s will be held in our school compound from 8th(Thurs) to 10th(Sat) of June, 8.00am -6.00pm. It is a non residential course.
Attendance is COMPULSORY for all Sec 3 cadets.
Please see me personally if you are unable to attend this course. Please take note that this course will be reflected in your CCA record as attending a leadership course and help you gain points under CDP.

This year's NPCC Day falls on May 7 (Sunday). To celebrate the event, a NPCC message will be read out by our Princial, Mr Low, during morning assembly on May 8 (Monday) and all units are to be in FULL UNIFORM. All teacher officers will also be in full uniform.
To prepare for this event, all cadets are to report to school by 7.30am in the school hall on Monday for checking of the uniform and for positioning of the squad in the hall for assembly at 9.00am.
For Sec 1 cadets who have not received their uniforms and Sec 3 cadets whose uniforms are too small, you are to report in PT kit.
Please take note that attendence will be marked and this will go down in your CCA record as participation in HQ/school function.
