As the school hols come to an end, let me highlight to you some of the Unit's acheivements during the June Hols.
1. National .22 Revolver Shooting Competition (Preliminary Round) - 1st June 2006
This is an annual competition organized by the NPCC HQ. Although we only had one dry practice before the event, the cadets put in commendable effort during the competition.
Boys' Team: 90th out of 154 teams
* Fabian Pang Wei Xiang (Sec 3PC) - ranked 18th out of 754 shooters
Girls' Team: 118th out of 127 teams
2. 2nd Uniformed Groups Bowling Championships (Preliminary Round) - 9th June 2006
This competition was organized by Hwa Chong Institution's NPCC Unit at Orchid Country Club. We sent in one boys team which managed to qualify for the Finals.
Boys' Team: 8th out of 26 teams.
* Bertram Khoo Li Fu (Sec 3TH) - ranked 7th out of 78 bowlers.
3. NPCC Leadership & Mentoring Supervisory Course (LMSC) - 8th to 10th June 2006
This course was organized for all upcoming Sec 3 NCOs for the 7 schools in Area 4. I am happy to share with you that at the end of the 3 day course, our cadets managed to clinch 3 out of 6 awards given out during the graduation ceremony.
Overall Best Female Cadet: Er Xiang Jun (Sec 3PC)
Best Trainee (Bravo Squad): Bertram Khoo Li Fu (Sec 3TH)
Best Trainee (Delta Squad): Suriani Suhani (Sec 3GR)
4. 2nd Uniformed Groups Bowling Championships (Finals) - 23th June 2006
Boys' Team: 8th out of 10 teams.
* Bertram Khoo Li Fu (Sec 3TH) - ranked 7th out of 30 bowlers.
We will be giving out all these awards when school reopens.. keep a lookout!
